The Krewe of Little Rascals presented its 35th annual ball in the main ballroom of the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner on Thursday.
The theme of this year’s spectacular was “Little Rascals Recall Signs of The Times.” The theme was depicted in the colorful gowns worn by the maids and tuxedos worn by the dukes. Members of the 2018 attending court were dressed in colorful themed elaborate costumes with a touch of red, just for fun. The float riders wore special edition Little Rascals costumes depicting the theme.
Presiding as captains of the krewe were Master Jack “Trey” Gayle Spittler III, son of Mr. Spittler Jr.; and Miss Nya Gabrielle Auzenne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Auzenne. The captains’ purple, green and gold costumes were highlighted with spotlight sequins, appliques and rhinestones. Their large purple, green and gold feathered collars and capes depicting the theme complemented their stately attire.
Reigning as Little Rascals King XXXV was Master Seth C. Hartman, son of Mrs. Stephanie Brandly. His majesty was presented in his royal finery of white velvet adorned with Austrian crystals and accented with silver and gold sequin, rhinestones, and lamé appliques. He wore the traditional white velvet mantle, trimmed in white fur and ermine tips that displays the krewe emblem in lamé, sequins and rhinestone appliques. The krewe’s traditional crown and scepter complemented his majesty’s attire.
Page to his majesty was Master Aibren Cooke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cooke.
Reigning as Little Rascals Queen XXXV was Miss Kristy Lynn Herkes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Herkes Jr. The monarch wore a white satin gown adorned with Austrian crystals, rhinestones and beading. Her lace collar was adorned with rhinestones and teardrop spotlight crystals. She wore a matching traditional white velvet mantle trimmed in white fur and ermine tips that displays the krewe emblem in lamé, sequins and rhinestone appliques. The krewe’s traditional crown and scepter complemented her majesty’s attire.
Attendants to the queen were Miss Harmoni BriAnn Daniels-Pierce, daughter of Mr. Isaac Pierce Jr. and Mrs. Shalonda Daniels-Pierce; and Miss Reagan Elizabeth Carter, daughter of Ms. Darnell Whittington.
Announcing the arrival of the king were the royal guards and herald. Serving as guards were Masters A.J. Vaz, son of Ms. Stephanie Brandly; and Aiden Perret, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Perret; and Jonathan West, son of Ms. Brittni West. Herald for the evening’s event was Master Andrew Perret, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perret.
Greeting the queen on her arrival were the flower girls and the ladies-in-waiting. Serving as flower girls were Misses Skylar Stephens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis J. Stephens; Abbigail Holliday, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Holliday; and Jordan West, daughter of Ms. Brittni West. Serving as ladies-in-waiting were Misses Raina King, daughter of Ms. Lisa Soto; Bella Stephens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis J. Stephens; and Lundyn Lestrick, daughter of Ms. Rhonda Williams.
Prince and princess were Miss Charlee Gonzales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gonzales; and Master Carter Ean Calahan, son of Ms. Darnell Whittington. Junior prince was Master Cason Stephens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis J. Stephens; and junior princess was Miss Jernee Moss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jermall Moss Sr.
Maids and dukes presented for the season were Miss Zoe Eymard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Derek Eymard, and Master Jaden Cooke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cooke; Miss Hailey Hilbun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Hilbun, and Master Conner Carter, son of Ms Stephanie Mills; Miss Madison Lydia Maureau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Maureau Jr., and Master Kacey Cognevich, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cognevich; Miss Madeline Holliday, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Holliday, and Master Joseph Warren Zimmermann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Michael Zimmermann; Miss Leah Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Patterson, and Master Apollo Stafford, son of Mrs. Suzanne Stafford and the late William Henry Stafford; and Miss Madeline Lirette, daughter of Mr. Kevin Lirette and Ms. Cherie Gauthier, and Master Rome Graham, son of Ms. Michelle Gauthier and the late John Graham.

His majesty called for his court jesters, who were Misses Leitan and Anastyn Cooke, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cooke.
The krewe traditionally announces a member that has shown outstanding qualities of leadership and civic pride, as their member of the year. Honored was Master De’Shaun Pastures, son of Ms. Ieasha Johnson.
