Never underestimate a dog owner’s love for their pet .
Or, in the case of Shelby Hennick, never underestimate the lengths a dog-owner’s granddaughter will go to reunite her grandmother with her beloved pooch.
Shelby’s grandma is currently in hospital and the separation was clearly too much for her to witness, so the kind-hearted veterinary technician devised a cunning plan.
Shelby, who may now be in the running for ‘Granddaughter of the Year’ award decided her best bet would be smuggling in the dog – but disguised as something else.
Here’s what she did.
“My grandma is in the hospital right now and wanted to see her dog. So I made it look like I was carrying a baby and we made it,” she wrote.
It’s quite the feat when you consider how tricky animals can be to work with.
There’s no guarantee they’ll stay still or not make any giveaway noises.
Of course, many people pointed out dogs weren’t allowed in hospitals for solid reasons.
But that didn’t stop others coming forward with their own tales of sneaking dogs in to visit hospitalised relatives.
And others revealed how they wish they had thought of this.
