Apple products emergency release update remedy
Intel’s global chip loopholes expose the security risks, Apple said the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and Apple TV, almost all Mac systems and iOS devices are affected, has released a system update to help prevent.
Two major security breaches have recently been discovered by Alphabet Project’s Google Project Zero and academics and industry researchers from many nations.
The first of these vulnerabilities, known as Meltdown, affected Intel chips and allowed hackers to circumvent hardware obstructions between user applications and computer memory that could allow hackers to read computer memory and steal Account and password. The second hole, called Specter, affects companies such as Intel, AMD and Amway, and allows hackers to fool no-hassle applications into reading confidential information.
Apple said in a statement today on the Web site that security researchers recently found that security vulnerabilities in Meltdown and Specter have affected almost every computer device and operating system. Apple said that all Mac systems and iOS devices are affected, but so far no known customers are affected.
Apple said it has prevented Meltdown vulnerabilities on iOS 11.2, MacOS 10.13.2 and tvOS 11.2, while Apple Watch is not affected. Apple also plans to release Safari browser fixes in the next few days to help protect against Specter vulnerabilities.
Apple recommends that users download the software only from trusted locations such as the Apple Store to avoid malware attacks. Apple also promised that it will continue to develop and test mitigation measures for vulnerabilities and will be released on the upcoming iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS system updates.
